A study by Counterpoint Research,already behind auspicious predictions for the success of AirPods, confirms again thatAppleestablishes itself as a solid player in the music market. Indeed, while the competition between platforms for listening to unlimited online titles is increasingly fierce, the alternative now automatically installed on all Macs seems to be doing well.
Music would thus represent 19% market share, which is just more than Amazon with its 15%.Spotifyremains the big winner with more than a third of customers, these figures being based on estimates for the whole of 2019 which has just passed.
Growth still on track
Still according to the same survey, there would be a total of350 million paying subscribersall around the globe and all applications combined. In Europe, we note in particular that Deezer is doing well, while everywhere else YouTube Premium seems to be the most serious outsider at the moment. All that's missing is to see Facebook and Microsoft arrive.
