Since last year, Apple has made a great effort, particularly in the area of producing original video content. The Cupertino company hires the services of famous actors and directors of films and TV series, such asSteven Spielbergor even Damien Chazelle, the director of the Oscar-winning film La La Land.
Apple is therefore in the process of building a catalog of original video content, like Netflix. This catalogcould be available from next yearvia a new TV offer. The latter couldcost nothing to all its customers.
Indeed, according to sources from the American channel CNBC, the original series produced by Apple, would be available free of charge, to all users of Apple products.
Apple's TV content offering would be offered throughl’application Apple TVon iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Which is possible, becauseApple has just announcedthat the next season of “Carpool Karaoke” will be available for free on this application.
Still according to CNBC sources, Apple would unveilbeginning of next year, acompletely revised “Apple TV” app. This would offer the new Apple series, but alsosubscribe to channels from other serviceslike HBO or Starz.
Users would not need to download multiple apps to watch content from other services. Everything would becentralized in the new appApple TV, a bit like Molotov in France.
Finally, we also learn that Apple is looking for flagship series, to launch a paid content offering in the future.
Apple has never offered such “gifts”, other thanU2's albumand the2nd season of Carpool Karaoke. This is therefore information to be taken with a pinch of salt.
