Earlier this week, after the release of iOS 13.2, some HomePod users found themselves witha speaker paralyzed by the new update. Apple quickly removed it and asked users who had installed it not to restore the speaker.
Users with an inoperable speaker could do nothing to restore it to working order. Restarting or restoring the speaker to factory settings does not change anything, the speakers affected by this bug display a white and red light permanently.
Given the seriousness of the problem that affected some users, Apple reacted quickly and has just released a new iOS 13.2.1 update for HomePod speakers.
This allows HomePod users to benefit (without the risk of blocking the speaker) from some new features, such as the transfer of audio content from the iPhone to the speaker or even multi-user support.
HomePod users who installed iOS 13.2 and found themselves with a crippled speaker should contact Apple for a replacement.
