Mark Gurman, in his traditional weekly newsletter for Bloomberg, provided new information about thenext generation of Apple silicon chips. It also tells us which Mac machines would benefit from it first.
2023 or 2024?
The analyst predicts the arrival of the Apple silicon M3 chip during thenext month of October. The SoC would power anew iMac. This is important news, since this is to date the only Mac that has not benefited from the second generation of Apple silicon components. If you look on the shelves, you can still see a 24″ iMac with Apple M1 chip.

Those who were impatiently waiting for a renewal of the machine will therefore have to wait until the fall. It could even be that the Californian firm will announce this new Mac to usduring a keynote, as it did previously, with a few exceptions, for its old computers.
Mac first, iPad later
In 2024, it will be the iPad's turn to benefit from the new generation of in-house chips. According to Mark Gurman, the first affected tablet would bethe iPad Pro.
As for other Macs, it's a little more vague. The analyst predicts, without getting too carried away, that after the iMac, the M3 chip would arrive on MacBook Air 13″ and MacBook Pro 13″, and then only on the more high-end models, Pro 14″ and Air 15″ notably.
We obviously hope for a nice improvement in performance and energy consumption for the next Apple silicon M3 chip.
