The number of films and series on Apple TV+ would have increased by 51% between June 2022 and June 2023, according to figures published by the Reelgood site. A score that is ultimately rather simple to achieve, given that the original period only had 130 different titles to its credit. Today, nearly 200 would be available on the streaming platform.
This is accessible today for 6.99 euros per month compared to 4.99 euros per month when it was launched in France in 2019. We can already find very popular content there, such as the seriesTed Lassowith Jason Sudeikis on display orFondation, adaptation of the eponymous book series by Isaac Asimov.
Amazon remains in the lead
For its part, the competition can now benefit from a relatively better catalog. But this is mainly explained by a much older presence on the internet, having notably made it possible to sign serious contracts with already existing studios. According to figures gathered by Statista, in the United Kingdom alone, nearly ten thousand titles are available onAmazonPrime Video (as of January 2023).
Netflixis not to be outdone, with nearly 7,500 titles according to the same classification. This of course remains to be considered with a grain of salt, particularly because films or series are regularly withdrawn from this or that country out of concern for respecting copyright. Using a virtual private network sometimes allows you to bypass these restrictions, however apps are starting to block this solution. This is also the case for the market leader.
