This Monday Apple released the very first update to its operating system for iPhone, iOS, since the arrival of version 16 of the latter. With this great first of the year, Apple could not reinvent the system presented during the last WWDC, but the new “dynamic island” functionality goes even further upmarket.
Presented as the strong point of the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, this “capsule” is a real feat from Apple. The apple brand succeeds in mixing hardware and software in the same solution, straddling the two worlds. With iOS 16.1, Dynamic Island now has the“live activities”.

It is thus possible to follow a situation live on your iPhone. A solution close to the screen within the screen already developed by Apple in recent years. While the solution was only available under iOS 16 with Apple's native applications, the system has just opened up to third-party solutions.

iOS 16.1: what’s new?
Amongother notable new featureswith this iOS 16.1 update, we can note the arrival of the Matter standard. It should significantly change the way we use and control our connected home and the objects that make it up. Another big change for Apple, the “Wallet” application now allows you to share the cards contained in the application with a third party.
For security reasons, not all “Wallet” cards are eligible, this is particularly the case for bank cards present in the application. Can hotel, car or even connected lock cards be transmitted to a trusted person using an ultra-secure Apple protocol?

This sharing can, for the moment, only be done between two iPhones with the iOS 16.1 update. To check that your phone has completed the update (or to launch it manually), simply go to the phone settings in the “software update” section within the “general” section of the phone.
