Charging your iPhone with clean energy is possible
As part of this deployment of iOS 16.1, Apple is launching a clean energy charging option called “Clean Energy Charging”. Please note from the outset that it is currently only available in the United States, but we found it interesting enough to share with you.
Concretely, this functionality allows you to charge your device when low-carbon electricity is available. To guide its users, Apple has also unveiled a support document which givesthe procedure to followto enable and disable this option.
Once launched, this gives the user a forecast of carbon emissions in the surrounding electricity grid, and an idea of the windows during which clean energy will be available. The Cupertino company also specifies using the Optimized Battery Charging feature which learns about your habits to increase the battery life of the iPhone.
