The video streaming service, Apple TV+, launched last month, with a meager catalog of series and films, but this will expand over time. But it didn't take long for Apple TV+ to receive its first nominations.
Indeed, one of its flagship series, The Morning Show, was nominated to potentially receive a Golden Globe. A ceremony which will take place on January 5 in California, where cinema journalists will choose the winners.
The series was nominated for best drama series, and both stars, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, were nominated for best actresses in a TV series.
Another actor from the series, Billy Crudup, was also nominated for best supporting actor, he will have to face several competitors for this nomination, such as Peter Dinklage from “Game of Thrones”, or Asante Blackk from “This Is Us”.
This is rather good news for Apple TV+, knowing that it took Netflix several years to obtain its first prestigious nominations.
It is also Netflix which dominates the nominations for the next Golden Globes, with 61 nominations for its series and films, including no less than 14 for the film The Irishman. A film by Martin Scorsese with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.
