In the kitchen with Apple Vision Pro

After the plane, the car, skiing, and music, we are now entitled to a video of the Vision Pro in the kitchen!CultOfMachas just published onYouTubea montage from his journalistGriffin Jones, in the kitchen, equipped with Apple's new mixed reality headset.

We see him first select a cookie recipe on the screen, then try to follow it as best he can. During his preparation, Griffin shows us the advantages that headphones bring to preparing a recipe, but also the disadvantages.

Follow a recipe hands-free

Even though in the video it follows a written textual recipe, from our point of view the main advantage is being able to follow a recipe on video. Of course because this offers the advantage ofnot having to touch your screen with your hands full of flour, onions, or any other ingredient or food. The gestures allow you to go forward, pause, slow down, or change videos without dirtying your screen.

Regarding Griffin's kitchen experience, he says havinga giant floating window recalling the recipe availablewas a big plus and without a doubtthe main advantage of the helmet. This is in line with our opinion just above. Furthermore, it is possible to keep the window in a specific location, or to move it with you.

Another fun fact, when he had to rest his dough in the refrigerator, it was able to sticka dummy timer on it, telling him when his dough would be ready.

Disadvantages

Of course, the Apple Vision Pro does not only offer advantages in the kitchen, as reported by the journalist fromCultOfMac. On the one hand, he reports that:

The Vision Pro's pass-through video is not a perfect reproduction of your eyes. It tricks your brain when you're actively using a number of application windows and not paying much attention to your surroundings. But when you're focused on a real task, you never forget that you're looking through a video camera.

As Apple advises on its support site, you should use the headset in a well-lit area. So Griffin turned on all the lights in his kitchen to make his video, but even so, he foundthe fairly low brightness, sometimes preventing him from differentiating certain utensilseach other's kitchen. The lack of brightness is also obvious in the video, when it switches between the Vision Pro cameras and the journalist's normal camera.
