He scratches his Vision Pro and sets it on fire… for science!

We recently saw a videographer on YouTubetest the resistance of the Vision Pro to a fall. And as one might have guessed, the window of the latter exploded after a few attempts at ceiling height.

In a more recent video, another obviously equally sadistic tester applied new torture techniques to the helmet. The experience takes place on the chainJerryRigEverythingof Google's video platform. In the video in question, we see our executioner of the day trying toscratch the front of the Vision Pro, then, some time later, tryto light the fabric strap with a lighter.

Perhaps shocking, these experiments are no less interesting. Especially since JerryRigEverthing, unlike our previous videographer adept at falls, performs his maneuvers in a mannerrather scientific and rigorous.

For example, he explains that he is surprised by the ease with which he manages tomark the front panel of the Vision Pro. The latter is therefore far from being resistant: from level 2 (of its scratch test of up to 10), it manages to “scratch” the helmet. In comparison, a recent iPhone resists up to level 6, or even 7 in its test.

The reason for this fragility would in fact be linked to the design of this front panel: it is probably made up of a layer of glass on which a layer of very weak plastic is glued.

Something to warn Vision Pro owners: watch out for scratches! Unlike iPhones, the Vision Pro's glass is much more fragile. It risks collecting marks very quickly in the event of repeated falls and mishandling. Enough to push the most cautious and/or the most clumsy to find something to protect it. Besides, we havealready spotted such a solution on Amazon. The Detueua brand offers a transparent protective shell for Vision Pro for less than €16. Here we are saved!
