The M5 chip is coming soon

If we are to believe the information on the siteEconomic Daily News, Apple is indeed investing massively in the development of next-generation M5 chips. The idea being to strengthen its position in the sector of AI PCs equipped with ARM architecture processors.

The apple brand has no intention of hanging around. According to our colleagues, the M5 chip would in fact be launched in the second half of next year. According to sources, the latter would embed improved computing power which would meet the needs of artificial intelligence functionalities.

Apple is catching up on AI

This market should generate significant orders from TSMC but also from other partners of the Tech giant, notably Foxconn and Quanta. While the manufacturing of the chip will still be based on the 3nm process (the industry is now moving towards the more advanced 2nm), it will nevertheless use TSMC's 3D chip stacking technology. Enough to improve thermal management and reduce leaks compared to 2D designs.

Of course, and in the absence of official communication from Apple, this information should be taken with caution. In any case, this seems to confirm the Cupertino company's efforts in terms of AI. After a slight delay in ignition, the company led by Tim Cook is no longer able to count on it.
