The principle of their deception was relatively simple:
make believe that iPhones, made from parts
counterfeit, were defective to have them exchanged:

l’iPhonewho had found this scheme.
In practice, they sent counterfeit iPhones to Appledecked out
a very real serial number. The iPhone in question being
considered defective and the Cupertino company then sent a real iPhone
him, in exchange.
Thanks to this technique, they managed to transform more than a hundred
of counterfeit iPhone 4s into real iPhones on which they pocketed
each time more than $160. The scam could have lasted a long time if, on the 20th
last December, 118 of the 121 iPhones they had requested to exchange
had not been activated at the same time.
