even Alexa. And recently, the manufacturer announced a new product for
those who regularly rent their accommodation via the service
Airbnb. The Smart Lock management app can now be linked
to Airbnb information and offer services to facilitate
stay of the tenant, including thecreating a PIN code
temporaryfor the Smart Lock, the time of reservation, but also
automatic cancellation of a code in the event of a change of dates,
etc. :
This allows hosts to no longer have to organize key handovers,
which can be all the more practical for those who rent their home without
necessarily also be present on site. Thus, a customer interested in a
accommodation equipped with a Smart Lock receives, once booking
carried out, all the necessary information to be able on the day of its
arrival on site,unlock the lock using the
smartphoneand enter the accommodationwithout even the
owner is present.
The lock opening PIN code provided to the tenant is then
temporary and only lasts for the duration of the reservation made on Airbnb. So,
once the stay is over, the tenant having normally left the premises
will no longer be able to access accommodation.
These new Smart Lock and Airbnb features will also automatically support
accounts for reservation cancellations, without any need for intervention from the
part of the owner. Hopefully these new features will be deployed quickly
outside the USA and other connected lock manufacturers follow August,
in order to facilitate Airbnb stays, both for the owner and for the
tenant.
