This week,Apple has deployediOS 13.6with its share of new features. As is often the case, security patches and additional features are delivered with the software, but this time the publisher has apparently not communicated about a potential improvement in endurance. It was without counting on the YouTube channeliAppleBytes, specialized in finding this type of information.
At the beginning of July,we already learned that the iPhone 11 obtains excellent results with theiOS 14 beta, lasting almost thirty minutes longer than in iOS 13.5. But additional progress could be delivered between now and the final, stable version expected for next fall.
The numbers
Indeed, with iOS 13.6 and following the same performance measurement steps, the iPhone 11 would last six hours and twelve minutes this time, or just barelyfive minutes less than in iOS 13.5. As for the iPhone SE (2020), it would lose almost thirty minutes of battery life… A situation also concerns most other models, from the iPhone XR to the iPhone 7.
It's hard to know if this is a new one.suspicion ofplanned obsolescenceor simply the benchmark configuration in the video. However, as we have said, iOS 14 drastically raises the level on the most recent iPhones: let's hope that this advantage is confirmed in the coming months.
