With iOS 13: increased possibilities for apps according to these brand new leaks (NFC, Siri, Taptique, AR, etc.)

Last week, the site 9to5Macunveiled various new featuresfor the next major version, iOS 13, for the iPad in particular, but not only.

Developers Guilherme Rambo and Steve Troughton-Smith, known in the Apple world, have just discovered severalnew features of iOS 13. On the program, aMore powerful Siriin third-party apps,enhancements for augmented reality, easy porting of iOS apps to Mac, and other interesting things.

Siriwill be able todo more actions in third-party apps. Mention is made of playback controls, search, voice calls, event tickets, attachments, train travel, plane travel, airport gate information and seat reservations.

Developers who port their iOS apps to Mac will have access to new APIs to use different components of the Mac, such as the Touch Bar or the menu bar. These apps from iOS can alsomanage multiple windows.

Apps compatible with Split View on iOS will be able todo the same on macOS. With the possibility of resizing windows by moving the separation bar, then returning to the initial position by double-clicking on this bar.

This compatibility of an iOS app to the Macwill be done very simply, by checking a box in the Xcode settings, as is the case for iPad support for an iPhone app.

iOS 13 will also integrate severalaugmented reality improvements. In particular, there will be anew frameworkwritten in Swift and dedicated to AR. We can also mention anew companion appallowing developers tocreate visual experiences in AR.

ARKit will also be able todetect different posestaken by a person. For games, iOS will be able to usetouchpad controllers and augmented reality stereo headsets.

Several other various new features are on the program. Developers will be able to customize the use of the haptic engine in their apps more finely, but also integratecontent previewsiMessage way.

NFC reading will improve, with the ability for developers toread ISO7816, FeliCa or MiFare type tags. A new version of CoreML will allow machine learning functions to evolve and learn based on user actions.

Developers will be able tointegrate the Document Scan functionof Notes in their applications. Apps will be able to import photos directly from third-party storage such as SD card,without using the iOS Photos app.

All these interesting new features should be confirmed by Apple at its next WWDC 2019 conference next June.
