Badland game goes 3D Touch for character control on iPhone 6s

We no longer present the excellent game
"Badland", which we mentioned again recently on the occasion of theoutput from an editor
of levels which gave him a new lease of life
. The game now has
of 10,000 levels created by its players. But today it's something new
arrived with the latest update that attracted attention.

Indeed, the game is one of the first toenjoy the screen
iPhone 6s pressure sensitive
(the "3d
touch
") to use it to control the action.

In practice, in non-iPhone 6s versions of Badland, the player must
keep the critter aloft in different caves and environments by
pressing for a longer or shorter time on the screen. The longer the support lasts
and the more the character(s) go back.

With the iPhone 6s, the press duration is logically replaced by the
pressure exerted on the screen.

This is of course the logical change that we expected for this type of
game when switching to 3D Touch. In practice, the difference is present, the
control turns out to be well balanced: there is no need to press like crazy on
the screen is natural to use and certainly a little more precise

Does this really change the nature of the game, its precision and the
comfort ? Difficult to say at first.

Nevertheless, this first contact with a game making good use of 3D Touch
seems to show the voice, the interaction is natural. It is a safe bet that
the use of pressure on the screen will become in a few years
the standard for some video game controls.

Furthermore, the icon also uses 3D Touch to offer
resume the part where you left it on the machine or another (via
iCloud sync) and a new object has been added to the level editor:
the “object of force” to create new levels and passages

For those who were able to test, feedback on the change:
practical, comfortable, invisible?
