Orange no longer offers the best 4G/5G network

The nPerf application, which allows you to evaluate the quality of your mobile internet connection, has just published its barometer, which risksnot to please some. It highlights the quality of the network offered by French mobile operators, and to our great surprise, it contradicts a general trend which isaccepted by a large part of users, for years. This is because Orange offers the fastest and most stable 4G/5G connection.

Bouygues offers the best network, just ahead of SFR

The data here is based on tests carried out by users ofnPerf. They are therefore factual, especially since it is one of the largest databases in France.

Here are the results for mobile networks:

  • Downstream Flows: Orange and SFR offered the best download speeds with respective average values of121.10 Mb/set121.68 Mb/s.
  • Upstream debits:Bouygues Telecom and SFR had the best upstream speeds, with scores of16.11 Mb/sfor Bouygues and15.96 Mb/sfor SFR.
  • Latency: Bouygues Telecom presented the best latency with a time of 29,70 ms.

So of course, Orange offers the best downstream speed, but in 2024, most operators will be able to offer a speed greater than 100 Mb/s. On the other hand, with regard to latency and upstream speed, which are factors crucial for uses such as cloud gaming, Bouygues Telecom and SFR stand out.

Why have good latency?

Low latency is essential, especially for real-time activities, where every millisecond counts. We are thinking in particular of online gamers, or users of cloud computing/gaming services, such as Shadow PC or Boosteroid. You can also test your throughput to see where you stand compared to the data shared above. To do this, you can install nPerf from the App Store, using the link below.
