Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the Apple Vision Pro will begin mass deployment in the first week of January. This does not mean that the device will then be available in stores, but simply that Apple Stores will prepare to install it on their shelves. Apparently, it will only be possible to obtain the device by going to one of the famous official stores of the Apple firm.
The mixed reality headset could arrive before March, however only the American market will be entitled to it at the start. The manufacturer has not yet specified a release date for Europe or Asia. However, we assume that the price could exceed 4,000 euros in France, in particular because two 4K screens power the system. As a reminder, the panel is often the most expensive component of this type of device.
How many Vision Pros will find buyers?
In the long term and also taking into account the next versions of the range, including a more affordable one, Apple plans to sell millions of virtual reality headsets. With regard to the Vision Pro only, on the other hand, Cupertino's sales estimates would have been revised downwards and would instead be around five hundred thousand units sold during the year 2024.
Considering the price, this should still represent several million dollars in revenue for the manufacturer. But to make money, the latter counts mainly on iPhone sales. It is this segment which, in fact, brings in the most, often with nearly a hundred billion dollars in turnover. All with profit, because Apple grants itself significant margins,up to 40%according to some research.
Many apps available at launch
The Apple Vision Pro will be launched under the visionOS operating system, presented at the last Worldwide Developer Conference. Several third-party publishers will also offer their own services, such as Zoom, a competitor to FaceTime but targeting individuals more.
Developers can already apply to test the Vision Pro, but on condition that they do not distribute any images on social networks.
