Apple plans to unveil up to four different computer models in the coming months, according to the journalist atBloombergMark Gurman. The opportunity to come back to these different predictions from the analyst, who has regularly been correct in the past. Of course, let's remember that these estimates remain mere hypotheses for the moment: Apple has neither confirmed nor denied them.
The Mac calendar for the end of 2024
According to Mark Gurman, therefore, Apple could first reveal anew Mac mini, just this year. Which is not without echoing recent rumors about the presentation date of the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, which would coincide with September 10. However, it is more likely that Apple will ask us to wait until a second conference, perhaps organized in October, to discover the new Mac mini. The computer could thenget closer to the design of an Apple TV, wanting to be thinner than ever. As a reminder, today, the central unit actually looks exactly like the set-top box, but with a volume almost twice as large.
This year, Apple would also like to renew its MacBook Pros. We should then see them equipped with the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, for the first time. Difficult to know what other changes will be on the technical sheet side. We can, however, rely on two screen sizes of 14.2 inches and 16.2 inches, if the manufacturer does not deviate from its habits.
With these devices, it is also the iMac which would benefit from a new version in 2024. Here too, we assume that the M4 chip will be integrated under the hood, to succeed the iMac M3 still available in stores today .
New computers next year from Apple?
In spring
To go further, Mark Gurman does not hesitate to also mention the potential release of newMacBook Airin the spring, or at the same time as the newRumored fourth-generation iPhone SE. As a reminder, two diagonals are currently offered with Apple's cheapest range of laptops: 13 and 15 inches. The graphics chip being more efficient on the large base model, with the M4 also expected to equip it as well as its little brother.
These new Macs will undoubtedly be natively powered by macOS Sequoia, which was revealed at the last Worldwide Developer Conference. AI-enhanced features will also be there thanks to Apple Intelligence, but we do not know if some will be reserved for MacBook Pros or not.
Macs planned for WWDC
Finally, Mark Gurman is also banking on the release of aMac Studioand aMac Profor mid-2025. A date that seems to match exactly with the next WWDC, which could take place in June. It was already on the occasion of this event that devices from these two ranges were previously released.
The Mac Pro is Apple's most powerful computer, although now the Mac Studio with its most powerful chip can achieve performance that is often compared to it. An M4 Ultra chip is expected for both of these CPUs, likely with up to 76 GPU cores or even more. For comparison, the Mac Studio andMac ProCurrent models can also include up to 192 GB of unified memory and 24 CPU cores. For up to 8TB of internal storage, but with plenty of dedicated sockets to support external devices.
