For a few weeks now, we've been hearing about ChatGPT almost every day. This intelligent chat robot is considered by many specialists to be arevolution of the weight of what the arrival of the internet was…Just that.
Powered by the GPT 3.5 language model signed OpenAI, it amazes with its almost perfect French, the sustained formulation of its answers and its conversational aspect which allows you to obtain very complete and precise information in just a few questions.
The icing on the cake is that ChatGPT is up to dateavailable to everyone and free of charge. We explain to you how to find this new companion on your iPhone (or your iPad) and be able to call him quickly.
Note, however, that, for the moment, ChatGPT is offered in a “preview” version, a sort of trial mode. In addition, you must be careful to respect its conditions of use and understand its limits. We explain all this to you further down in the article, paragraph “To know about ChatGPT”.
1. Register on the ChatGPT website
Using ChatGPT, whether on your Mac or iPhone, or anywhere else, requires creating an account with OpenAI:
- Go to the ChatGPT website:https://chat.openai.com/
- Choose “Log in” if you already have an OpenAI account and go to paragraph 2
- Choose “Sign up” if you do not yet have an OpenAI account

- Enter an email address then a password to configure your account
- The platform sends you an email to the address indicated to verify it
- Go to the mailbox for the address indicated and find the email sent by OpenAI
- Click on “Verify email address”

- Then fill in your first name (“First name”) and last name (“Last name”)
- Enter your phone number (you must insert a real number there, because OpenAI will ask you to confirm it)
- Verify the phone number by entering the code received by SMS

Complete the following steps until you arrive at a new ChatGPT chat window, named “New chat”, with ChatGPT written at the top in large letters.

2. Create a ChatGPT shortcut for the home screen
To access the ChatGPT web address more quickly, simply create aSafari shortcut for home screen. ChatGPT will then appear as another application on your iPhone, which you can open with a simple tap without touching Safari again:
- Go from the Safari application on iPhone or iPad to the ChatGPT web address:https://chat.openai.com/
- Identify yourself with your account by choosing “Sign up” and entering your email as well as your previously chosen password
- Once logged in on the ChatGPT chat screen, tap the Safari share icon
- From the options provided, choose “On Home Screen”

- And there you have it, on your home screen you will find a shortcut called ChatGPT. By pressing the latter, you immediately fall on the chat interface of the conversational robot

Things to know about ChatGPT
- ChatGPT is offered in free mode and paid mode
- In free mode:you can access the robot provided that it has available resources. In short, during peak hours, access to it will be limited.
- In paid mode, $20 per month:access to ChatGPT is guaranteed to you at all times. The robot's response time is faster than in free mode, and you benefit from the latest news before users who do not pay

- ChatGPT announces its limitations:the information delivered by the robot is not guaranteed to be error-free, violence-free and bias-free. In addition, his knowledge is limited temporally until the year 2021. Everything that happened in 2022 and 2023 is unknown to him at this stage.
