internet at Apple, Eddy Cue announced that the new show "Planet of the
Apps" would beavailable exclusively on Apple Musicfrom spring
2017.
He also gave some information regarding an area that has
long been ignored by Apple but not for long, namelythe
podcast scenewhich has experienced renewed interest in recent
years with quality productions like theRDV Tech.
As a reminder, podcasts are audio and video broadcasts relating to
different themes, and which are often run by amateurs, but
also professionals.
He announced that the Cupertino company was working on
new features for podcasts, but without
specify the nature of the new developments to come.
In spring 2016, Apple summoned well-known American podcasters
to find out how it was possible to improve podcasts in
the iTunes ecosystem
As a lot of podcasts are having monetization issues, it had been
suggested several solutions such as a subscription solution allowing
users to support their favorite podcasts.
Apple currently does very little for the podcast scene, other than
maintain a podcast directory on iTunes, accommodation
and the means of listening to the podcasts are the responsibility of the creators of the
emissions.
