On April 10, Apple and Google announced a joint effort in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The two Tech giants intend to create a common programming interface to allow the creation of contact tracing applications. These could be used to warn people who have been near the sick. The idea is to open access to this API tostate authoritieswho wish to access it. But other countries includingFranceultimately chose to use their own means and will not use the tools of the two companies.
Parameters to better control your data
Apple intends to prepare as best as possible for the arrival of these new applications and is starting to make some changes to its mobile operating system. The beta version of iOS 13.5 thus includes a notification of exposure to covid-19. The Cupertino company even presented some visuals to show how it will work.
You can first see a screen that asks you whether or not to accept these notifications.
The second screenshot shows how a user can report that they have been diagnosed positive for covid-19. Once the unique number and the date of the test have been entered, they are then asked for their authorization to share their identifiers and thus notify people with whom they have recently been in contact.
The third screenshot shows the notification itself.
Finally, the last image provided by Apple presents the parameters which will be controlled by the user, including the recording of notifications in the health application or the deletion of the exposure log.
