We know the most listened to song of the year on Deezer

The end of year holidays are approaching and with them all the usual recaps of the previous twelve months. For some time now, music streaming platforms have been making a ranking in December to find out the most listened to titles over the last 12 months.

While Spotify's retrospective should be released during the month of December, it was the French platform Deezer which got the ball rolling by publishing its ranking of the most listened to tracks on the platform. It was in a simple blog article that the application gave the names of the most popular music of the year.

At the heart of this “rewind”, the platform mainly highlights French rap, an ultra-dominant musical genre during this year 2022. Thus the hit of the year is Tout va bien by the artist Alonzo. He is ahead of Suavemente de Soolking and Jefe de Ninho to complete the podium.

French rap masters the game

This ranking is largely dominated by French artists, but when we look at the list of the most popular artists this year, things are very different. It is indeed the Canadian The Weeknd who comes out on top. The group Coldplay is placed in fourth place just ahead of Sia or Rihanna. The two singers are respectively 5th and 6th in this ranking.

In terms of French-speaking artists, it is Marseille's Jul who easily dominates the ranking. He is ahead of Ninho and Orelsan, two rappers whose last album caused a lot of talk during this year 2022. Note the presence of Damso (5th) and Nekfeu (8th) while the two artists have not released a project major for several years.

Deezer announces that this general “rewind” will be available in the coming days on the platform. This will also be an opportunity for users of the application to watch their own personalized “rewind”. Deezer offers a ranking of the most listened to music during the year for each listener.
