Apple's security spending for Tim Cook: rather frugal compared to other executives

You might think that the most publicly traded companies spend a lot on the security of their executives. This is not always the case and depends in part on the type of activity of each company.

Today we learned that Apple spentrelatively little in 2018to ensurehis boss's safety, Tim Cook. It's even a ridiculous amountcompared to the security budget of several managerslarge tech companies.

Specifically, Apple spent310 000 dollars in 2018to protect Tim Cook. Wired did a comparison with the security spending of other tech executives.

For example,Amazon and Oracleeach spent$1.6 million, to ensure the safety of Jeff Bezos and Larry Ellison respectively.Googlespent a little less, approximately600 000 dollarsfor Sundar Pichai.

We can also mention the sum of$1.2 million spent by Intel, to protect his former boss in 2017, Brian Krzanich.

However, the crownof the biggest security expensesreturns to Facebook. The social media giant spent$7.3 million in 2017, to ensure the safety ofMark Zuckerberg. This figure would rise to$10 million in 2018.

Compared to 2015, when Apple spent $700,000 on Tim Cook's security, this figure quickly dropped to $220,000 and $224,000 in 2016 and 2017.
