Apple recently presented the second generation ofl’Apple Watch Ultra, without however numbering it. But the company is already working on a new model, which could however arrive later than expected. While some rumors were betting on a presentation in 2025, a new report from the specialized siteTrendForcenow mentions the 2026 calendar. We can then assume that the connected watch could make its appearance during a keynote, at the same time as new high-end iPhones with a camera under the screen.
At the same time, analyst Eric Chiou, at the origin of the publication of these new rumors, believes that the wearable would be equipped with a new screen. This would be of better quality, moving from OLED technology to a displaymicro-LED. As a reminder, this system makes it possible to improve contrast, but also the rendering of deeper blacks and colors.
Even more imposing
Chiou is also banking on a third-generation Apple Watch Ultra that is larger than ever. The forty-nine millimeters of the current model would thus gain in weight, with an increase in size of the order of+10 %. As is often the case, however, this rumor like the previous ones should be considered with caution: Apple never communicates such details in advance.

Despite everything, these advantages also risk being synonymous with a major barrier to entry for consumers: that of price. And for good reason: the price of the screen of the third generation Apple Watch Ultra could be multiplied by 2.5 or 3, compared to that of the edition available in stores today. As a reminder, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 costs a whopping 899 euros. However, it turns out that all researchers agree to say that on the production side, it is each time the panel which is the most expensive in terms of components, whether to design iPhones,Macsor even connected watches.
