This is not the first time that
there is talk of a dual lens for the iPhone but this time, things
seem more serious.
Indeed, according to Kiaru Wen, CEO of ALTEC whose specialty is to provide this
kind of lenses at HTC or Huawei, Apple is working on its dual lens
for 3 years now but should have faced two major problems
to which Tim Cook's company would have finally succeeded in finding
solutions :
The first problem encountered by the Cupertino company would have been
directly linked to the image. Indeed, the photos taken were
blurry. To solve this, Apple would have used software
that the LinX company developed. For the record, remember that Apple has
exactlyacquired LinXin
last April.
The other problem, and this one is quite recurring for Apple, is to
find a supplier capable of producing enough to be able to
support the demand. Here too a solution would have been found with
of the LARGAN company. It is also Largan who should produce the major
part of the iPhone 6s photo sensors. Strange coincidence, the CEO of Largan
recently declared that it was working on doubling the production capacity of
his business.
Presumably this new camera won't be ready for September
and the release of the iPhone 6s but we could well see itland
with the iPhone7. If so, we will have the opportunity to
talk again.
