Apple doesn't make much noise about its
buyouts, but these are generally very well targeted and quickly become
keys in new versions of its products. We can cite technology
HDR in the field of photography, but also Siri or of course Touch
Id, now classic for securing our machines.
More recently, it is in the sector ofphoto sensors
that Apple has made an acquisition which gives rise to great hopes and
could give Apple a big lead when it comes to improving
photos taken with our machines.
It is aboutLinX Imaging, a company
Israeli which manufactures photo sensors with announced performances
particularly interesting.
The technology implemented combines image processing with optical system
and sensor to improve capture in low light conditions, the
HDR, focus and shutter speed. The principle is linked to the
measurement then 3D reconstruction of the scene, thanks to several sensors at
instead of just one. Possibilities thatremind
those of the Lytro camera, less bulky!
We talk aboutsensorsto the performances which
would come close to what digital SLRs offer, with a
much smaller footprintand enhanced capabilities
particularly in terms of depth of field.
This is excellent news for future iPhones, when you take into account
take into account the fact that the photo qualities of the latest machines are already very
good. Can't wait to see what Apple will do with it!
