New information in this
which concerns the return to 3 operators in France in 2018 have recently been published.
According to the chained duck in fact, negotiations would progress between SFR and
Bouygues Telecom, for the acquisition of the first by the second. Already at the beginning of
spring,Bloomberg
revealed that the two telecom giants were in discussions. And then there
little, it'sARCEP
who gave the green lightas for a possible association of two
operators in France. All this then suggests a return to a trio which
would be made up of Free, Orange and Bouygues-SFR:
The information, from Le Canard Enchainé, reported by Libération, reveals that a
meeting between Martin Bouygues, PDF of Bouygues and Bouygues Telecom, and
Patrick Drahi, owner of Altice, the mayor's house of SFR, would have taken place on the 29
last May.
During this interview, the first would have proposed to the second the repurchase of
51% of SFR, including 25% which would go to an American investment fund.
The remaining 26% would be recovered by Patrick Drahi. This one would have
requested 24 billion euros for this 51% as well as the possibility of keeping the
half of the new operator resulting from the merger between Bougyues Telecom and
SFR.
According to Libération, this proposal has little chance of succeeding, but it
should launch negotiations which could last a few weeks and
perhaps lead to an agreement by the second half of 2018.
Clearly, this year sees mobile operators in France engaging in a
real war, very active on the one hand in terms of hunting for new
subscribers, with already numerous aggressive sales periods having already had
place since January, see our article yesterday on offers
specials from Sosh and B&You, but also on the other hand, with a common thread,
this takeover affair which is gaining more and more momentum.
