Record summer for Apple: the Christmas tidal wave is taking shape

Wall Street expected 85 billion, there was “only”83,4, or nearly 71.4 billion euros. Apple has just revealed how much its activities brought in during the fourth US fiscal quarter of 2021 (the third for us), causing a notable drop in its share price in New York. For Tim Cook, who at the same time spoke via the columns ofCNBC, one of the reasons for this score is on the Asian side.

The CEO assures in fact that the constraints linked to Apple's eastern supply chain would have cost it no less than 6 billion dollars. The processors integrated into the brand's devices are indeed victims of serious shortages. An argument all the more credible as the number of investors who have bet on AAPL is large, this title retaining that of the largest capitalization on the planet, with Microsoft in ambush.

Compared to the third quarter of 2020 (64.7 billion), this year generated 29% higher financial performance. Overall profit, on the other hand, has been in free fall since its record twelve months ago. Blame it on the reasons explained above, particularly linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

The sector in better shape also seems to continue to be that of applications, with almost constant growth since 2017 (+26% compared toprevious announcements from July).

No surprises under the tree

Black Friday arrives on November 26. The end-and-beginning-of-year celebrations about a month later. Analysts are now in the habit of forecasting peaks for this period, which is also confirmed by the official results. The iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7 may have relatively disappointed consumers with their minor update, but they should not deviate from the rule and be among the most popular products of the moment.
