Have you ever heard of getnothing. App?
L’application webgetnothing.appis a project that saw the light of day this summer on the web. The web application looks at first glance like a completely normal website. Its design is recent and clean, and the site seems to offer services to its users. However, upon closer inspection, we realize that this is all a charade! If you subscribe togetnothing.app, you will get:nothing at all! But the worst part of all this is thatpeople buy.
Even if there is nothing in the key, the page, according to some, still makes you want to subscribe to the “service”. There we indeed find the normal elements that we can usually see on a web page, but here, everything is made a mockery of. There is even a table that compares getnothing.appto different services:

Going further down, we find some rather unexpected customer reviews:

Is this a joke?
To this question, the founders answer: “No, we are seriously counting on your money and have already taken out a loan for a new car.". If you want to subscribe to getnothing and get nothing, you will have to pay the sum of 8 dollars per month. The website indeed offers a subscription, and if you subscribe directly for a year, it costs 60 dollars, or 36 dollars less than if you take the monthly plan.
Sparking an emotion can make money
When we sell a product or service, we seek to provide something to our customers. Which does not seem to be the case at first glance.getnothing.app. Some would be tempted to say that “it's nonsense» this project, and they would be right.
However, others took it with humor, and were so appreciative of the initiative that they wouldn't say they paid to get nothing. They are rather of the opinion that they obtaineda moment of joyby discoveringgetnothing.app, and it was worth it. The latter are just as right as those who would say “it's nonsense».
They are not the first to try it
The creators ofgetnothing.appare not the first to try it. The technique of offering nothing for money had already worked in the past. We remember in particularl’application «i Am Rich»who wassold for $999on the App Store at the time, and which brought absolutely nothing. Seeing the success of the latter, others followed suitby launching “ i Wanted Rich». It was marketed inprice of $1000.
