For more than a decade, it has been possible to project holograms with your iPhone, but this requiresget an accessory designed for this. Until now, no one has been able to project one using only the screen of an iPhone, but it's now done!
Optics Letters researchers say they have achieved this feat. According to the study, they would have succeeded in projectingvery realistic 3D holograms, with the touch screen of an iPhone 14.
Comment ?
As BGR reports:
To demonstrate their capabilities, they created a two-layer optical reproduction of a three-dimensional color image. To do this, they projected the first layer using a spatial light modulator. The second layer, however, was projected by the screen of an iPhone 14. This allowed the researchers to coordinate the images to create a realistic-looking holographic display that closely resembled those created by expensive laser systems.
A significant step forward?
The fact that researchers were able to create a realistic hologram with a simple iPhone screen could bea significant advance in the field. The amounts to be paid to carry out research on the subject are expensive, and reproducing a realistic hologram as in science fiction films is not yet something trivial.
This new method could therefore offer new perspectives that are less costly than what already exists, and suggestsa democratization of this type of technology in the future.
Regarding holograms, in 2015, a rumor was spreading concerningApple's secret research. These concerned potential future holographic screens for future iPhones.
Also, in 2016, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were projected in holograms forun “show hi-tech”.
Furthermore, if you wish, you can make the small accessory yourself to project a hologram from your iPhone screen. To see how to do it, click here!
