Long the stronghold of BlackBerry, the professional world is also turning
towards the iPhone as shown in the latest study carried out by iPass (a company
specialized in corporate mobility management services) from
2300 employees for 1100 companies located for 49% in North America,
32% for Europe and 12% for the Asia-Pacific region.
The iPhone has indeed become the most used smartphone in business and
the iPad, whether 1st or 2nd generation, clearly also makes the
leading the way in the tablet market.
Discover the details of this study in the rest of the post.
The first observation of the study is that thesmartphones equip 95%
mobile employees compared to 85% 1 year agowhile knowing that
91% of users use it for their work.
Then, and this is a first, theiPhone dominates the sector with
45%of possession among mobile workers while it
represented 31% a year earlier.
This first place is to the detriment of the BlackBerry which stagnates in
around a third (32.2% in 2011 compared to 34.5% in 2010). Android does it too
a clear increase from 11 to 21%.
This situation should further evolve since 18% of employees declared
that they were considering purchasing an iPhone in 2012 when only 2%
were planning to acquire a BlackBerry device next year.
On thetablet market, Apple is there also widely
in the lead with the iPad. While tablets represented 33% in the second
quarter is now44% of respondents who say they own one
a.
I let you appreciate the following table, the figures speaking
of themselves.
A final point made by the study is that laptops are
less and less used outside the strict framework of the office in favor of
smartphones and tablets.
Even if Apple's policy towards professionals is not very
aggressive, we see that mobile employees prefer to use
Apple terminals that they know well both for their work and on a plan
more personal.
And you, in the context of your work, do you use your
iPhone/iPad? Is this also the case at your company level?
