- A folding iPad would be in the works
- It could see the light of day as early as next year
- With potential to clear the ground for the iPhone
As for the iPad, according to recent rumors, Applewould work on a folding model. This hypothesis was recently reinforced by a report from Asia, signed DigiTimes precisely, citing sources close to subcontractors of the Californian firm.
Details are scant regarding the technical characteristics of such a machine. We simply learn of a possible release window: the year 2024.
Once yes, once no
If Ming-Chi Kuo, renowned Apple analyst, already in the pastbased on the existence of such a folding iPad project, with the aim of the year 2024, other analysts like Mark Gurman and Ross Young remain more suspicious in this regard. To date, they have not heard of any plans for an iPad with a folding screen, as our colleagues at MacRumors point out.
In any case, it seems more likely to see the iPad arrive in a folding format rather than the iPhone. Indeed, the iPhone is still to this day the product that generates the most revenue for the Californian firm. The latter certainly considers any change concerning its goose that lays the golden eggs with the greatest caution. The iPad, on the other hand, could do everythingserve as a testing platformfor “folding technologies”. Because, even if Apple has a good market share in tablets, the iPad, compared to the iPhone, is a bit David against Goliath.
In summary, seeing Apple test the folding on the iPad before possibly bringing it to the iPhone seems to be alogical strategy. From there until it is put in place next year, let's stay more careful!
Especially since in 2024, another apple-branded product will occupy the field:Apple Vision Pro headset. The latter will indeed arrive on the American market at that time.
Do you think it would be interesting to see an iPad take advantage of the folding format? We are curious to have your feedback on this subject.
