Kuo already announces the release date of the first folding iPad

Apple could launch a foldable iPad by the end of 2024, according to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a new announcement made on Twitter, the expert from the Apple brand announces that the device will benefit from a“all new design”.

He assures that this change should be the next important modification for the Cupertino company with regard to its tablets. Kuo does not think that major developments will see the light of day before then. In detail, Kuo explains that the iPad should benefit from a carbon fiber kickstand to make the system more solid and resistant over time.

A revolution for 2024 at Apple?

For the coming year, Kuo announces a drop in shipments of 10 to 15%. Kuo's announcements, far from being unprecedented, confirm Apple's growing interest in folding products. 5 years after the presentation of the first Galaxy Fold by Samsung, launching foldable phones for the general public, Apple could therefore enter this market with a tablet.

In his latest report on the subject, analyst Ross Young assures that Apple is working on a 20-inch screen that folds in the center. According to Young, such a device could hit the market, but in many years not before 2026 or even 2027.

iPhone: the big loser?

As for the screen, other rumors assure that Apple is already working with LG teams to develop a glass capable of curving along the fold without it being visible. For now the most likely is that the Apple brand will enter the folding device market with an iPad, but Apple could surprise the world and offer a foldable iPhone in the coming years.

The iPhone 15, expected at the end of the year, should arrive with a USB-C charging port. However, the rumors about it do not mention a folding screen.
