Apple Plan Determined to Compete More Aggressively with Google Street View

Apple has just extended a feature of its GPS navigation application. This follows the arrival of Apple Plans in web versionon some browsers. The affected Apple Maps feature is called “Look Around”. It offers an interactive view of streets and landscapes in high resolution. Here's how Apple presents the feature:

“In the Maps app, you can explore certain locations using 360° panoramic views. For example, you can virtually walk the streets of certain sites to get your bearings once there. »

New areas coming soon

While it is currently limited to large metropolitan areas and a few regions of the world, we have just learned that Apple's Street View could soon be extended to other areas. In a publication on the social networkRyan Fae found information about future areas covered by Look Around.Looking at the application code, he noticed an expansion of zones. They will soon be many more than are available now.

In the United States, for example, coverage ofLook Around will no longer be limited to big cities. It will soon expand to highways, small towns and rural areas. You will therefore soon be able to virtually explore more remote and less populated regions with the same image quality as that offered in large metropolises.

Other countries are coming
