The
Cupertino firm multiplies promotional operations and partnerships
music to promote its music streaming service, Apple Music, which
currently has more than 13 million paying subscribers.
Last Monday, singer Drake launched his new album exclusively on
iTunes and Apple Music for a period of 1 week, and it seems to have
bore fruit, as the album was sold more than 1 million copies on
iTunes, and listened to more250 million times on Apple
Music.
Listening figures for Drake's latest album suggest that
new potential customershave subscribed to Apple Music for
3-month free usage period, and a percentage of those customers
temporary couldbecome paying subscribers.
This success of Drake's album on Apple Music is also due to the fact that the
singer's record company (Vivendi) employed dozens of people
pourfight against piracyof the album on the different
broadcast platforms, of which YouTube is the most used.
