Afterhaving extended the time to delete a message, WhatsApp has just publisheda new application for Windows, already downloaded more than ten thousand times and which has the advantage ofno smartphone requiredto function correctly. Previously, you had to have a mobile turned on and connected to the internet to take advantage of it, which was also the case on Mac for a while.
According to the developers, the new version of WhatsApp for Windows is faster andplus stable. This appears in the form of a two-pane window: on the left, the list of conversations and on the right, the content of a discussion. A search bar is included, with also a button to write a message and two others to call (audio or video).
Oh wow, the new version of WhatsApp is now out of beta. It's a modern Windows app which replaces the old electron/web version. You can receive messages without the app being turned on, and you don't need to be connected to a phone.

The macOS beta is complete
On macOS, the new WhatsApp app was designed usingCatalyst, a program from Apple that allows you to easily port an iOS platform to a computer. For the moment, however, this client is only accessible in beta version via TestFlight, but the number of participants is limited and places are already all taken.
The siteWABetaInfohas, however, already been able to have access to first images of the next WhatsApp app for Mac. This time, there are no longer two but three columns that await users. The first is a sort of menu with five options: access settings, conversations, call history, archived content and favorite exchanges. In the second, we find the list of discussions, and the messages are located in the third.
Better performance?
The advantage of the new version of WhatsApp is also that it is hardcoded, whereasthe current version is a webapp, that is to say a simple copy of the version available on browser. The move to Catalyst, also assumed by Twitter, should - in theory - offer Internet users faster loading of the interface, whereas it currently takes several seconds to display when starting up.
WhatsApp is a free messaging service andend-to-end encrypted, but sometimes criticized by the competition because it collects a lot of personal data then resold by the advertising agency of Facebook, its parent company.
