Practical iOS 9: easily switch a Bluetooth accessory from one iPhone to another (or iPad)

Accessories
usable wirelessly connected with the iPhone and iPad by Bluetooth are
more and more numerous. The technology is now rather reliable and this
either a speaker, a keyboard or a controller we appreciate being able to enjoy it
quickly ! At the same time, it is not uncommon to have several
machines in a home. Problems arise when it comes to switching these
accessories from one machine to another.

Before iOS 9, when you wanted to disconnect from an accessory
Bluetooth (which only accepts one device in memory) to allow another
machine to pair with it, you either had to deactivate Bluetooth or use
the “Forget this device” option. Problem, when we select this
last, it is then necessaryagain go through the phase of
pairing
of the Bluetooth accessory to use it again. Slow and
impractical!

But there is an option that allowsto cut the link between a
iPhone or iPad and a Bluetooth accessory
without having to go through
this phase!

In this case it is a question of "disconnect" instead
to “Forget” the Bluetooth connection with the accessory.

Here ishow to do this under iOS 9uniquely :

  • First of all, you must be connected to a Bluetooth accessory (keyboard,
    headset, speaker, wireless controller)
  • Then go to Settings > Bluetooth
  • Then select the"i" surrounded by a circle, located
on the line to the right of the name of the device you wish to disconnect
  • Two options are offered: then choose
    "Disconnect"

Now the Bluetooth accessory is free to pair with any other
device. If this is for the first time, you will need to follow the procedure
pairing once, then follow the same procedure to disconnect and do not
no longer have to do it.

To reconnect to a Bluetooth accessory from which you have just
disconnect, simply, on the Bluetooth page displaying the list of
Bluetooth accessories, press its name and the iPhone connects to it
nouveau.

So here's how to more easily share a keyboard, a controller or a
Bluetooth speaker easily between different members of a household, or different
machines.
