He punctures his lung in a fall, but the Apple Watch saves him

Robert Naess is a 59-year-old financial director. A few weeks ago he decided to go jogging in the woods. As reported by local mediaWalk of the World,he was alone at 7 a.m. on this small road when he lost his balance.

The fall was so violent that he broke several ribs and punctured a lung. Very serious injuries which immediately led to severe respiratory problems. According to the doctors who received him at the hospital a few hours later, Naess could well have died on this trail that morning.

But luckily for him, he had an Apple Watch on his wrist. When she fell, the latter detected her and offered to send an alert message to the emergency services. Thanks to this functionality, Naess was able to be taken care of in around fifteen minutes.

Naess notes that during these long minutes many cars passed on the side of the road but none took the time to stop to help him. He explains that he was in a position which made it difficult to see, especially at this very early hour when the light is not yet very good.

Apple Watch: the creator of happy endings

This is not the first time that the Apple Watch has allowed a news story of this kind to have a happy ending. A few months ago a person in Canada (Ontario) was saved after a fall in a very cold area. He too could have died without the presence of this connected watch on his wrist.

Stories like that of Robert Naess have numbered in the hundreds since the creation of Apple's connected watch in 2014. In September the Cupertino company should update its Apple Watch by offering a new Series 9 as well as an evolution of its “Ultra” watch presented for the first time last year.
