iOS 11.4 is available, with WatchOS and tvOS: new features iMessage, AirPlay 2 and painful Watch bug fixed!

As next week begins
Apple developers conference, the famous annual WWDC, it's iOS 12 and
new operating systems that will be discussed (follow our live on
live.iPhon.fr|]). So Apple chose to finish early with iOS 11.

This is how iOS 11.4, in preparation for several weeks via a
succession of beta version, has just been delivered. It is now available
download for all users of a compatible iPhone model.
It is, as usual, accompanied by the corresponding versions of
watchOS 4.3.1 and tvOS 11.4.

For the
iOS 11.4 public beta testers
, you must delete the “Beta” profile
in the settings and restart your machine to see the update appear
final official.

Here are the details ofnew features of iOS 11.4and the list
complete fixes ("changelog" at the end of the article)

The main new features of iOS 11.4 are in fact functions already
tested in iOS 11.3, but removed before the end of the testing period, deemed
probably not yet ready for a general public launch.

Now they obviously are. First of all, it's about audio
multi-room supported byAirPlay 2, the protocol of
wireless audio and video transmission from Apple. This is also included
in version tvOS 11.4 released simultaneously.

This important development in Apple version streaming management was
presented in June last year, we discussedthe changes
in this article
, which are of course linked to Apple's HomePod speaker
but also multi-room broadcasting, stereo via two speakers and
volume management on different speakers.

But the most awaited function by a large number of users is
now available, it is thesynchronization of messages via
iCloud
on all of the user's Apple machines, i.e.
iPhone, iPad, Mac et Apple Watch.

This function allows, for example, to delete a message on a machine,
with the consequence of also deleting it on all other machines
from the same iCloud account.

Still in the field of sound, another announced function is
reappearance, it is the pairing of HomePod speakers for streaming
stereo.

iOS 11.4 also includes its share of fixes to make the system
more secure, stable.

This is notably a annoying bug of theApple Watchwho is
fixed with this version of WatchOS 4.3.1. So, on reboot, for example
when the battery was empty, the watch could get stuck on the apple
for a very long time, requiring a reboot to restart. This
should be ancient history.

Did the update go well for you? That
do you think of anything new?
