Along with other programs from its publisher, Xcode 13 rolled out in a fourth beta last July. Many users were able to take it in hand in preview, in order to test its interface and develop applications. But it was also an opportunity to discover clues about the new features planned for the iPhone...
Indeed, an Internet user named Brendan Shanks shared on Twitter a screenshot of the software in which we can see the words “iPhone_14_8“, which suggests an equivalence to a potential version numbered 14.8 of iOS. What's more, this text is included between two other equally equivocal expressions: “iPhone_14_7” et “iPhone_15_0“.

A minor update?
Given that the bulk of the changes announced during the last Worldwide Developer Conference are mainly expected for iOS 15, it is very likely that a possible iOS 14.8 will not really shake up the habits of the general public. As an example,iOS 14.7.1, for example, fixed a background security flawbut did not bring any additional functionality to the phone.
However, it is impossible to know precisely what Cupertino's next mobile operating system will contain. Most of the time, however, Apple specifies that it has resolved technical problems or improved stability but without going into detail. If the firm follows its usual schedule, information related to iOS 14.8 could be published during its launch which would then take place in August.
More precision
Let us also add that until now, Apple has never declined its major OS for smartphones up to .8, which could be a sign that its teams are more attentive to the bugs encountered by the community or else that there are more of them than in normal times. What's more, it may be a way to make your device even more secure, as is often the case with this type of maneuver.
For the moment in any case, there are no reports of having received iOS 14.8 either in beta or via OTA. Do not hesitate to let us know if you see it in your Settings, otherwise we will keep you informed if Apple decides to publish this version.
