Update: iPadOS version 14.7 is now available.
A few hours ago, Apple released the final versions of the following updates after several weeks of beta testing:iOS 14.7,iPadOS 14.7, watchOS 7.6 and tvOS 14.7.
What changes for iOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.7?
In addition to fixing bugs and security vulnerabilities, here are the new features to discover in iOS and iPadOS 14.7:
- Weather report: the app displays the air quality in France. The information is also available in the Plans app
- HomePod: setting timers possible from the Home app directly, without going through Siri or even going through the speaker
- Wi-Fi:Fixed a bug that, depending on the SSID of a Wi-Fi network, could disable the Wi-Fi functionality of the iPhone or iPad.More details here
- Apple Card Family :credit limit sharing
- Battery MagSafe: support for the new MagSafe external battery for iPhone 12 and 12 Pro
- Podcasts :new setting choice allowing you to choose between displaying all podcasts or only followed podcasts
And watchOS 7.6?
On the watch side, this is mainly a corrective update for the moment. Several bugs and security vulnerabilities are fixed with the update. Please note, with watchOS 7.6, the ECG functionality is now functional in 30 new countries around the world (France could already benefit from it). For tvOS 14.7, there is nothing new to get your teeth into.
iOS and iPadOS 14.7
Version 14.7 is available forall iPhones that can benefit from iOS 14. For iPadOS, version 14.7 is available foriPad OS 14 compatible tablets.
It is very easy to update your iOS device. However, no one is safe from problems during the procedure. This is why it is necessaryalways remember to make a backup of the devicebefore installing a new OS. The backup can be done via iCloud or through iTunes,as explained here.
watchOS 7.6
To update the watch,follow the same procedure as described here.
tvOS 14.7
On Apple TV, to update tvOS, you must go toSettings > System > Software updates. Then select “Update Software”.
