iPhone 15: the Find My feature in action (Video)

While the first deliveries ofthe new iPhone 15 rangestarted this Friday, customers are having a blast and testing the innovations of these new smartphones from the Apple brand.

We know in particular that the second generation chip present in these phones provides an interesting functionality. Thus Find My gives users the opportunity to find friends with an iPhone 15 nearby.

And in fact, the Teknófilo YouTube channel has just tested this option during a full-scale experiment. In this short video, we can see an iPhone 15 connecting to a device of this same range at a distance of 60 meters. As our colleagues from9to5Mac, it is a distance much greater than the search forAirTags.

However, it must also be remembered that this attempt is made in optimal conditions in the open air. We can imagine that the detection capacity is much lower for smartphones located indoors.

In any case, and as we see very clearly in the images, the technology seems very well developed, and we appreciate the sense of detail with these arrows which guide us towards the final destination.

Apple had also specified during its presentation that the second generation chip guaranteed a range up to three times greater than that of the U1. While that of AirTags is around 15 meters, 60 meters would therefore be even better than what the Tech giant claimed. This also suggests an improvement in the precision of Apple's trackers, once the AirTags benefit from this new electronic chip.
