iPhone 16 Pro: sales are disappointing, hard blow for Apple

The iPhone 16 Pro sells less well than expected

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, specializing in Apple news, looked at the iPhone 16 pre-order figures. He reports that iPhone 16 sales forthe first weekend of pre-orders are estimated at around 37 million units, which is 12.7% less than during the first sales weekend of the iPhone 15 in 2023.

The iPhone 16 Pro would be partly responsible for this decline. Despite delivery times shorter than those of the 15 Pro last year,the purchase volume for the new smartphone is 27% lower.Selon Ming-Chi Kuo,the absence of Apple Intelligence at launch(available onlyviaiOS 18.1) explains this lack of consumer interest. It would therefore take more than the addition of a tetraprism telephoto lens to push them toupgrade from iPhone 15 Pro to iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro Max would also be less envious than the iPhone 15 Pro Max,since its pre-order volume is 16% lower.

A great success for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
