According to the
most of the rumors about the next generation of iPhone, Apple would reveal to
the start of the school year three new iPhones, two models with an OLED display in 5.8 and
6.5 inches, and a model with LCD display which would be the cheapest of the
range.
However, according to a new report from Korean site The Bell, the release of
the iPhone 2018 in LCD version could be late, and therefore
come out delayed compared to OLED models due to aissue
with the notch.
In order to maintain a certain consistency in terms of design, Apple wants
all future iPhones will have the same design, namely a screen with a
notch identical to that of the iPhone X.
But according to this report LG and Japan Display who supply the LCD screen of this
third iPhone experiencing production issuesdue to
the notch, concerns about light leaks are mentioned.
Due to the nature of LCD technology which works with a system of
backlight, the notch is harder to integrate on an LCD display than on
l’OLED.
However, this new report must be taken with a grain of salt because it
relies on an isolated source in Korea, a little-known analyst, moreover the site
The Bell is not well known in the Apple universe for making predictions about
Apple's next products.
