The latest VisionOS 2 beta is available for developers

This is the home stretch. Less than a week before Apple's back-to-school keynote, the Apple brand is still busy behind the scenes. While the images for the video presentation are surely already on the editing bench, the developers in charge of VisionOS 2 are not yet at the end of their troubles.

They have just deployed a new update, the 9th beta version of the OS. A modification of the operating system which somewhat surprised specialists. Historically Apple releases 8 different beta versions for its OS during the summer. This makes it possible to resolve many bugs and offer very stable versions of thenew OS at the start of the school year, when they were released to the general public.

An intriguing 9th beta

The publication of a 9th beta for VisionOS 2 is therefore a surprising choice on the part of Apple, which demonstrates that everything is not yet ready for this first major update ofl’Apple Vision Pro. The arrival of this new beta does not mean that big changes are at work on the Cupertino side.

As explained by the developers who got their hands on this update, it was released to fix bugs and improve some features. No new features have yet been discovered by the developers at this time.

What release date for VisionOS 2?

According to several rumors, Apple should give the release date of its various OS during its event next Monday. In an article (available as a source), the information site 9to5Mac even offers the date ofMonday September 16as the launch day of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia.

The big question remains whether VisionOS 2 will also be there or whether the update for the Apple Vision Pro will be available a little later in the year. For the moment, only a few insiders on the Apple Park side have this information. The conference this Monday, September 9could already provide several elements of response.
