During the keynote being held this Tuesday, October 13, Apple lifted the veil on the new HomePod. This is a HomePod mini smaller than the first generation unveiled in February 2018 by the Apple brand – as its name suggests.
Criticized for its price upon release, the device was the subject of several rumors already. A few hours ago, images and information about him leaked online. But are they verified? We take stock.
What are the specific features for the HomePod mini?
We already note a major difference between the HomePod and the HomePod mini: the design. The new version unveiled this evening has been redesigned to be smaller, but above all rounder than the previous model. Otherwise, the exterior is the same as the device unveiled in 2018.

Apple also mentioned Siri, the voice assistant available on all its devices. The Apple brand indicates that users will now be able to use the device to place numerous commands, whether to manage the various connected objects in your home or to stream music. Siri also allows you to ask questions that it can answer, such as store hours.
In terms of technical characteristics, the HomePod mini is entitled to the S5 chip and the U1 chip, the latter allowing more speed between the smartphone and the device.
The other big point concerns the arrival of Intercom, a feature which allows you to send messages from the HomePod mini to all Apple devices: iPhone, iPad… but also AirPods and CarPlay. This is the biggest news regarding the device, knowing that it also concerns the first generation.
The HomePod mini is available in white and gray at a price of $99, a real drop in price compared to the first edition of the device, which was rightly judged to be expensive compared to some of its competitors (even indirect). Pre-orders will open on November 6 and deliveries will take place from November 16.
