ARCEP (Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications, Posts and Press Distribution) has just published a new survey. This questions the performance of the four main mobile network access providers in France. We learn in particular that Orange seems to be the operator who is doing the best, regularly finishing first when we measure the speed of flow rates. More precisely, number one would be above 3 Mbits per second in 91% of recorded cases.
These same figures do not mention the results of MVNOs in this area. To find out more, simply refer to the data accessed by the associated SIM cards. At Syma Mobile, for example, it is the SFR coverage which takes care of the connection. In the case of Prixtel, ditto. YouPrice, for its part, offers the possibility of choosing between the firm with the red logo andOrange.
Other criteria to take into account
In the statistics collected by ARCEP, we can also discover the score of operators according to different types of telecommunications. With, once again, a major success for Orange: the provider ranks first in calls in no less than the fifteen largest French cities. In the list, we obviously find Paris, but also Toulouse, Marseille, Bordeaux or Lyon.
As for more isolated places, which the regulator classifies as municipalities of less than ten thousand inhabitants, here again Orange is doing rather well with 85 points – much better than its runners-up, namely Free and SFR, each reaching the rating of 78%.
To check these numbers, it is also possible to refer to the coverage maps provided by each operator on its official website. Be careful, however: in 4G or 5G, in particular, the data are not always comparable. The most recent network thus remains underdeveloped, compared to its predecessor still at the top of the list of the most subscribed subscriptions each month.
