With the new version of iOS, Apple was supposed to solve an autonomy problem but without success for some. A relatively restrictive concern for a device which is intended to be mobile by definition, and which would also concern certain computers of the same brand. In fact, users describe anotherbattery malfunction.
This would recharge up to 100% when connected to the mains, before suddenly losing autonomy even while continuing to be powered, the current not being detected. Affected owners report the error on the latestMacBook Pro, namely those which are equipped with a proprietary processor (M1, M1 Pro and M1 Max). All are eligible for macOS Monterey, when it is not automatically installed.
An alternative in the settings?
For the moment, Apple recommendsdo not deactivate the modeOptimized battery charging, according to information provided by the Genius Bar. This tool is normally offered to limit the aging of the component, by monitoring your energy consumption habits. But it's actually not enough to be considered a solid alternative to efficient charging.
Moreover, according to the testimonies published to date, evenmacOS Monterey 12.3.1released last week does not bringno fix. Moreover, the release notes for this version only mention security improvements, for the update, USB-C headsets or monitors.
Solution on the way
Still in the Apple Store, technicians therefore advisepatientsuntil a patch was deployed for the operating system, which appears to be the source of the bug. This therefore suggests that developers are already working on it, or that they have at least been made aware of it by the various feedback published on the forums by dissatisfied customers or mentioned in store.
It's hard to know how long the operation will take, but in general it's a matter of weeks between each macOS update. In particular, it was necessary to waita fortnightbetween version 12.3 and the next one, arriving at the end of March. However, this period does not usually exceed three weeks.
