Macs could charge iPhones and Watches like AirPower

An interesting new patent has just been filed with the US Intellectual Property Office. We see acomputerwhich looks like two drops of waterlatest MacBook Air unveiled a few days ago, as well as two other devices from the same brand placed on either side of the trackpad.

The document details explain that the PC would be equipped with a batteryinduction, which, like Qi charging, could recharge connected objects with electricity that are attached to it. A more practical way to gain autonomy than going through a cable to untangle, like the solutions offered by true wireless headphones likeles Sony WF-1000XM3.

An uncertain future

Unfortunately, even if the interest of such a solution is obvious, it is unlikely to see a portable Mac being sold with this functionality in the coming months. In fact, this file was only recorded in December 2019, less than six months ago, but we know thatApplestill has difficulty designing this kind of technology today.

The (almost) wireless charging matAirPower, announced several years ago during a keynote, would thus still be undergoing experimentation in the manufacturer's labs.
